Karigari is new as a company, but the atelier relationships behind it go back to 2019.
2019 · The First Visit
A Lane in Kanpur
Mohammad Gulfam first walked into Iqbal Chacha's workshop on Nai Sarak, Kanpur, in the autumn of 2019. Two men cutting vegetable-tanned hides on a low wooden block. He recognised an honest product that deserved a direct platform.
2020 · The Jaipur Connection
Tripolia Bazar and the Jewellers
A referral led to Meenakshi Devi's workshop behind Tripolia Bazar, Jaipur, recreating Mughal-era jewellery forms for thirty years.
2021–2022 · Expanding East
Lucknow Chikankari and Chennai Finishing
Chikankari from Lucknow's Chowk neighbourhood entered the mix in 2021. In 2022, a Chennai leather finishing atelier joined for oxfords and structured goods.
March 2026 · Going Live
Karigari Opens
Vidhi Vidhan Enterprises Private Limited formally launched karigaricraft.shop with 74 products across four craft families.
